FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Answers for veterinary practices and clinics: the practice schedule, the animal record, consultations, prescriptions as documents, the recall list, data and GDPR, pricing and the ecosystem.
The practice schedule
How long does it take to start the schedule with 4softvet?
A small practice can start the same day: create your account, add the vets and rooms in the settings and start entering appointments. There is nothing to install and no code.
Can owners book online themselves?
No. The practice team enters the appointments in the schedule. There is no public booking page for owners.
What happens when two appointments overlap?
The platform warns you that the same vet or the same room is already booked and shows which appointment it clashes with. You can choose another time or book it anyway if you need to.
Can several vets work in the same account?
Yes. You add the vets in the settings; each appointment and consultation shows the vet, and the overlap check works per vet. One account is one practice: there is no separate management for several locations.
Animal record, consultations and prescriptions
What does the animal record contain?
Identification details (name, species, breed, date of birth, sex, microchip, allergies and notes), the owner’s details (name, phone, e-mail), the consultations, the documents in the register and the prescriptions issued. Each animal gets a reference number and you search by name, owner or microchip.
How is a consultation written?
In free text: the reason for the visit, the symptoms, the diagnosis, the treatment and the date of the next check-up. The consultation stays linked to the animal. There is no coded list of diagnoses.
Can I issue prescriptions from the platform?
Yes, as a document: the vet fills in the medication, dosage and instructions, then prints a sheet with a line for signature and stamp. It stays in the animal record. It is not an electronic prescription sent to any official register.
Does the platform store lab results or X-ray images?
No. The documents register keeps the title, type, date and a reference to each document, so you know what exists and for which animal. You keep the files where you keep them now.
Vaccinations and the recall list
How do I keep track of animals to call back for a vaccine?
The recall list is kept manually, from the platform: the team adds the animals to be called back for a vaccine or a check-up and works through the list when it makes the calls. The platform sends nothing on its own.
Does the platform send reminders to owners?
No. 4softvet does not send SMS, e-mails or WhatsApp messages to owners. 4notify is a separate product in the same ecosystem and works on its own.
Does the platform calculate the date of the next vaccine?
No. The vet sets the date, and the team enters it in the list and in the schedule. The platform does not calculate vaccination schedules.
Data, GDPR and security
Who is responsible for owners’ data?
The practice, as data controller. Owners’ contact details are personal data under the GDPR; informing them and keeping the record of processing stay with the practice. 4softvet is software for keeping them in order, not a compliance certification.
Does the platform connect to official animal registers?
No. 4softvet does not connect to official microchip or passport databases and does not send electronic prescriptions. Prescriptions and records stay in your account.
Pricing, plans and the ecosystem
How much does 4softvet cost?
Prices are shown in euro on the pricing page, and an account from Romania pays in lei at the BNR rate of the payment day plus 5 %. The plans include a free period, no card required.
Does 4softvet issue invoices?
No. Invoicing is a separate product in the 4b2b ecosystem (4invoices). 4softvet does not issue invoices or collect payments from owners.

Yes. Partners who recommend 4softvet to veterinary practices can join the affiliate program, with recurring commissions. Details are on the affiliate page.
